Forest School: Reception and Year 1
At our school, we are delighted to offer a unique Forest School provision for all our Reception and Year 1 pupils. Each child engages in this enriching experience for one term, guided by our fully qualified Forest School teacher, Mrs Strawberry (Mrs Sutherby). This programme provides an incredible opportunity for outdoor learning, where children can explore, discover, and connect with nature in a safe and supportive environment.
Forest School is a fantastic resource that supports the physical, social, and emotional development of our young learners. Through engaging activities, children build their confidence and creativity while enhancing their communication skills. The natural setting encourages emotional regulation and fosters a sense of belonging among peers.
We are truly fortunate to have a dedicated Forest School site within our school grounds, offering a rich sensory experience that stimulates curiosity and wonder. This hands-on approach to learning not only nurtures a love for the outdoors but also lays the foundation for lifelong skills and resilience.
