Pupil Voice and Our School Council

At our school, we believe that children are at the centre of all that we do. We are committed to ensuring that every pupil has the opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas, both formally and informally. This is where our School Council plays a vital role in making our school a better place for everyone.

The School Council consists of one representative from each class, from Year 1 to Year 6, including our Head Boy and Head Girl, who are proud pupils from Year 6. These school council representatives are elected by their classmates, ensuring that every child’s voice is heard and valued. They gather feedback from their peers and bring forward ideas to our regular meetings, where we discuss a variety of popular topics such as school trips, sponsored events, school dinners, and much more.

Our School Council aims to empower children by giving them a platform to express their opinions and contribute to the decision-making process within the school. This initiative not only fosters a sense of responsibility but also encourages teamwork and collaboration among pupils. We believe that when children feel they have a say in their school environment, it enhances their overall experience and promotes a positive school culture.

By actively involving our pupils in discussions about school life, we are nurturing their confidence and leadership skills. We are proud of our School Council and the important role it plays in shaping our school community, ensuring that every child’s voice is heard and respected.

Pupil Jobs and Roles of Responsibility

At our school, we believe in empowering our Key Stage Two pupils by offering them exciting opportunities to take on jobs and roles of responsibility. Each year, students can apply for various positions, such as play leaders, salad bar supervisors, ICT technicians, and librarians, among others.

At the beginning of the school year, pupils are encouraged to submit their application forms, showcasing their enthusiasm and readiness to contribute to our school community. Our school leadership team carefully review these applications and assign roles based on each child’s interests and strengths.

Once selected, children receive their job descriptions, along with training to ensure they feel confident in their new responsibilities. They are also awarded badges to proudly display their roles.

These positions not only help our older children learn about responsibility but also foster our core value of kindness, as they support and assist their peers. We are proud to provide these enriching experiences that help our pupils grow and thrive in a nurturing environment.
