Message to Parents 23/03/2020

Tuesday, 24 March 2020

Dear Parent/Carer,

We are contacting you following the government announcement this evening concerning measures to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

We are writing to you to consider if it is absolutely necessary to send your child/children to school tomorrow and for the next few weeks.

Whilst the need to support critical workers is vitally important we need to minimise the number of people travelling and coming into contact with others.

If you have been in contact with the school and agreed your children/children can attend but in light of the recent announcement do not wish for them to attend please email/phone the school to inform us.

Thank you for your continued support in these challenging times.

School Closure - Update

Sunday, 22 March 2020

Dear Parent/Carer,

Richard de Clare school is now closed.  We will continue to try and give you as much information as possible during this time and the office staff will still be in school on Monday if you need to phone or email.

“The Government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and asked schools to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend.

It is important to underline that schools, colleges and other educational establishments remain safe places for children. But the fewer children making the journey to school, and the fewer children in educational settings, the lower the risk that the virus can spread and infect vulnerable individuals in wider society.

Schools are, therefore, being asked to continue to provide care for a limited number of children - children who are vulnerable and children whose parents are critical to the Covid-19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home.”

If you have completed the key worker survey to say you need support  during this time then we will be sending you information out later today to explain what to do on Monday morning.

If you have not yet completed the survey and still want a place then please contact the school urgently on Monday morning.  We will be able to answer phone calls from 8 a.m. or if you email the school and leave a message then someone can ring you back.  Please do not just arrive at school on Monday morning.

We will try and keep you updated with all the information as soon as possible.

Thank you for all your support.

Message to Parents

Friday, 20 March 2020

Please can all parents, who are asking for childcare to allow them to work, please bring proof of employment to school when children arrive on Monday (for example an ID badge, letter from your employer or a wage slip.) It is essential that we only have children in school that should be here.  We need to limit the chance of this virus spreading.  If you do not meet the criteria for your child to be eligible for childcare, then we will ask you to take your child home.

I will be sending out further information over the weekend to explain what this childcare will look like, but please can I ask, you to think very carefully about if this childcare is essential.
Thank you for your support at this difficult time.
Kind regards,
Ms K. Riddleston

URGENT Key Worker Information

Friday, 20 March 2020

20 March 2020

Dear Parents/Carers

Following the announcement from the Government that school closure will not be "an educational setting" but a "safe place" for critical workers to leave their children and the publication of the ‘key worker’ list, we need to collect details of which families fall into this group so we can plan accordingly.

  • Class assemblies (these currently take place every Friday morning)
  • Parents Evening (planned for the last week of term)

Please do support us by encouraging children to wash their hands regularly.

Coronavirus Update 17/03/2020

Tuesday, 17 March 2020

Following the announcement from the Government yesterday regarding increased measures to restrict the spread of the COVID-19 virus, please be aware that if anyone in your household has either a new persistent cough or a temperature, your whole household will need to self-isolate for 14 days.

In order to support children who are self-isolating we have introduced a new section on the website called Learning at home.  This will include details of websites, apps  and other resources that your child can use if they are not able to attend school.
