Below are some examples of work that your child could complete at home.

  • Keep a news diary of local and national events
  • Keep a food diary
  • Write a letter or email to someone special
  • Create a game and write a set of instructions
  • Play a board game/puzzle
  • Do some baking – try to take photos and write the recipe
  • Do some gardening and/or plant seeds and record the growth
  • Create a poster or fact file linked to your topic
  • Create a dictionary of any new vocabulary you come across – write the definition and each new word in a sentence
  • Create an Easter egg hunt or treasure trail
  • Build a cosy reading den
  • Read a range of books – write a review of your favourite book or draw your favourite character
  • Watch a film and write a review
  • Practice writing your Year group spellings using different colours and fonts
  • Create a PowerPoint presentation on a topic of your choice
  • Create a piece of artwork – this could be in the style of your favourite artist
  • Design a quiz, word search or crossword for your friends or family (make sure you have researched the answers)
  • Practice your timetables – you could hold a contest to see who can recall them the fastest
  • Learn a new skill e.g. tie your shoe laces, ride a bike, tell the time, recall the 4 times table, count to 10 in French, sign 5 words using Makaton

*Look up the funniest jokes and make a family joke book
*Go on a bug hunt, in the garden/on your daily walk/exercise. Take photos, make a fact file/booklet
*Make/design an obstacle course in the garden, using objects from around the house/garden
*Make a volcano, using Lego, paper mache, Playdoh
*Learn how to plait or braid hair
*Indoor/outdoor scavenger hunt
*woodwork, sanding, designing, building, measuring, make a bird-house
*Build a den in the garden
*Water play, investigating sink or swim, making mini rafts
*Design and make Easter Bonnets
*Make your own dominoes, pictures or numbers
*Learn a language
*Put on a play, write the script, perform

*Create an alternative book cover for a book you love
*Create a set of top trumps that could be used in class

*Build a 3D model of a new play park (use Lego, food boxes to create swings, slide, skate-park etc - take a photo)
*Make an instrument; challenge each other to make a rain maker (tubes, peas, rice, etc) and decorate
*Write an acrostic poem using the words...TOGETHER or COMMUNITY
*Picnic, (maybe a tent or wigwam) design invitations, invite your teddies, survey family for food choices, make the food, decide on location; garden, balcony, indoors, find a rug, make some bunting
