Following the announcement from the Government that school closure will not be "an educational setting" but a "safe place" for critical workers to leave their children and the publication of the ‘key worker’ list, we need to collect details of which families fall into this group so we can plan accordingly.
Last week's Reading together session on World Book Day was a phenomenal success. The hall was packed with parents and children - ALL reading together! The children loved their bookmarks, which were carrots or pumpkins. There are 17 bookmarks to collect....which one will be given out this week?
On Sunday 8th March, Richard de Clare gymnastics travelled to Chelmsford Gymnastics Club to participate in the floor and vault County Final, having won our area competition. We are through to the national finals in May.
We would like to announce that Mr Rob James has been promoted to the role of CEO of North Essex Multi Academy Trust.
A massive congratulations to the Sports Hall Athletics Team for competing in and winning the Level 2 finals on Monday. It was a great event and the children showed amazing teamwork and determination!
This means we will now be attending the county championships at Southend Leisure & Tennis Centre on Wednesday 11th March, competing as part of the top 14 schools in Essex.
Our Seasonal Celebration performances have now finished. Thank you to everyone who came. Each year group also produced a hamper to raffle off at each performance. We raised an amazing £289 to go towards our defibrillator!
Thank you to everyone who donated to Children in Need! We had a disco in the playground, 50p a go games and we even made a Pudsey out of pennies! Year 6 sold Pudsey ears and wristbands throughout the week. A Year 6 pupil also raised money for Bowel Cancer UK, a charity which is very close to their heart, and raised an amazing £242!
Some of our children attended the Remembrance Service in the Public Gardens on Sunday to pay their respects. Thank you to everyone who came.
A big thank you to all the parents who sent in flowers today for the Flower Festival. Sainburys also donated some flowers. The residents of Colne View and Riverside Court were overwhelmed by our children's generosity, behaviour and maturity.
The Book Bus came to visit us today. Children from Year 4, 5 and 6 swapped some of our library books for new ones. The children can't wait to get reading!
Year Five enjoyed an exciting trip to The Ramsey Academy this week as part of their topic on The Ancient Greeks and ceramics. They learnt new skills and made clay pots that will be fired and then painted at school. The children found making the pots a good challenge but they had great fun making them and they learnt a lot. Thank you to The Ramsey Academy for hosting the sessions.
