175th Anniversary Celebrations - Day 1

175th Anniversary Celebrations - Day 1
Monday, 17 June 2019

Today we enjoyed our first day of festivites! Please click read more to find out what we got up to!

We were treated to an amazing assembly by the pupils of the school. Each year group was assigned a period of history between 1844-2019 and shared facts, music and pictures from their era. Local dignitaries, ex staff and governors joined us for assembly - it was so lovely to see some old faces!

Visitors, children and staff then made their way out onto the school field for a street party style picnic lunch. Our fabulous kitchen made nearly 300 picnic bags for everyone! Dylan (Y1), Mazie-Grace (EYFS), Owen (Y5) and Libby's (Y6) designs were used on all the picnic bags. Humes of Halstead made us a goregous cake to share with our guests. Mr Illes (ex-headteacher) joined Mrs Donnelly in cutting the cake.

In the afternoon, each class held a party. The kitchen iced roughly 450 cakes for each child and staff member to enjoy at their party.
