A Big Year for Richard de Clare
This year sees the 175th anniversary of a school being on the current Richard de Clare school site. The British school, as it was first known, was one of the first in Halstead to cater for boys and girls. By the turn of the century it had proved so successful it was already supporting nearly 400 children.
A series of events to reflect the important role the school has held in the Halstead community are being planned and the school would love any former pupils or staff to get in touch with the school so they can be included in these celebratory events. If you, or someone you know, has attended or worked at Richard de Clare you can email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone the school on 01787 472153.
Head teacher, Sarah Donnelly explains, “The experiences, memories and stories of pupils and staff who have attended the school will be an inspiration for our next generation of pupils.”
