Richard De Clare Community Academy

With a Nursery for 3 to 4 year olds.

Dream Big, Work Hard, Believe and Achieve.

Inclusion

Inclusion helps all learners to thrive and reach their full potential.

At Richard de Clare we aim to have a fully inclusive culture that promotes and values diversity and strives to provide equality of opportunity for every child and young person regardless of their Race, belief, gender, gender identity, special educational needs or disability. We understand that is the responsibility of everyone to challenge prejudice, recognise the diverse needs that individuals may have and to work to remove the barriers that create discrimination.

Children’s progress at school is regularly monitored and parents are kept informed at parents meetings. If we feel that children require additional support, we will arrange a meeting between the class teacher and the child’s parents to discuss our concerns. If you, as the child’s parents have any concerns then you can also request a meeting to discuss the next steps.

If a child needs help or challenge over and above that which is normally available within the curriculum and high quality teaching available to all, the class teacher will plan for those needs. Additional support may include:

  • adapted learning materials
  • targeted group or individual support

We aim to work closely with parents, involving them at all times in their children’s education.
