Adverse Weather Conditions
ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS
At this time of year it is always important for schools to consider adverse weather conditions such as snow, as it could result in school closures or variations to the normal start and end of the school day.
Please be assured that we will endeavour to open and remain open wherever possible, however, we have to consider health and safety risks both on site and importantly on the journey to and from school, before any decision is made and for you to be informed about how you will know if the school is closed.
Attending School: Adverse Weather
Please make sure pupils are appropriately dressed for the weather. When snow is on the ground, pupils are advised to wear appropriate warm clothing and appropriate footwear for example Wellington boots (not necessarily school uniform). They are also welcome to bring a change of shoes to wear when they are in the school building. Pupils are allowed to wear coats or additional thermal layers in the classrooms if they are cold.
